Mooring Information

Sherborne Wharf, our nearest comparable site as far as security is concerned, currently charges boat owners £37.95 a foot for long term mooring. Access to electricity and water is extra.

Current mooring fees have not been reviewed since 1997. Had they kept pace with only the annual service charge increases, they would currently be 2.65x the current rate.

Orford pays £300 pa, Potter £600pa and Vaughn £600 pa. Fees are due end of September.

BW agreed "end of garden rate" to SCML. Rate is based on Cambrian Wharf, even though that is not as secure as Symphony Court. This is a particularly low rate for SCML and Directors are at liberty to charge boat owners any rate they wish. Accountant recommends there must be a margin to allow for void periods. Obligation on directors to be fair to all shareholders, and cannot be seen to favour the few boat owners in terms of cost. House owners may wish to pay for mooring to keep space and hence the view of the canal from the ground floor.

Arrears calculated to £7,800 for the period when no rent was paid.
